The Ipswich-based games studio is to develop a range of exclusive content for the online supplier, with a principle target of creating “a new generation of table games for Microgaming operators,” complete with “customization components that deliver tailor-made experiences for a new level of play”.
“We believe our background in the mobile, social and gaming sectors puts us in an excellent position to bring innovation and style to the online table gaming sector,” stated Tom David, head of studio at Switch Studios. “Our objective is to deliver the best selection of classic table games that players enjoy.”
The first creation set to be debuted is a new take on the classic game of roulette, complete with 3D wheel and specifically optimized for mobile, within which it can be enjoyed in both portrait and landscape modes.
Bringing a new game engine and supporting “racetrack betting, favorites and special bets,” Switch Studios forms part of Microgaming’s new studio strategy, under which the firm is striving to “disrupt the market with targeted content”.
John Coleman, Microgaming’s chief executive officer, added: “Bringing Switch Studios into the fold ensures we have a dedicated resource for innovating and enhancing our table games offering.
“The team have already demonstrated a facility for producing stylish and sophisticated casino games, that are highly original and entertaining, and I am looking forward to developing this side of our range even further in the coming months.”
Planning to collaborate with operators to craft bespoke games to suit the needs of their player bases, roulette is to be followed by a wave of complementing content, including Blackjack, to be revealed in the coming months.
Microgaming will debut Switch Studios and roulette at SiGMA on 28 – 30 November 2018.
